A Weeks Gone By...

Oh my goodness...
An entire week has gone by and I haven't even seen
my sewing room.

I do hope you all had a wonderful Easter.
It was sunshine and flowers here.
The weather was just beautiful. It made for the perfect
day with family new and old!
Yes, my oldest boy is engaged and we have a whole wonderful new family joining us.
We couldn't be happier!

I even have proof that the Easter Bunny paid us a visit.
LOL!!
We have been over run with rabbits for a couple of years now.
This, is one of the many who like to munch on my lawn.

There are lots of things going on in the MooseStash.
First off, May 1 is my block for the "Sun, Sand and Sea" BOM

Then, I will be joining in on the "Art with Fabric" blog hop.
You will see my post on the first day...May 15.

Happy Easter

This sweet and calorie free bunny, is from "Seams to be Sew"
You can find the pattern right
You might even remember her cousins from a couple of years ago...
Looks like someone can't get enough of these adorable little chocolate bunnies around here!

And just a little more quilting inspiration for you...
Are these just too cute?
I saw them at my favorite quilt shop the other day.
No time now, but maybe next year!
;-)
Wishing you all a very happy Easter.
Have a blessed day.

Adventurous Applique With Island Batik

This month's ambassadors challenge theme...
Applique.
You all know just how much I love applique, and with Easter
coming up...

I dug thru my special drawer of "Island Batik" fabrics, and went to work.

This adorable little guy, is a design by Wendy Bentley.
The artist of the calendar "Favorite Things" from Lang.
I was just introduced to this the other day at quilt club.
It was love at first sight.

As quilters we find inspiration everywhere, and "Favorite Things"
is now right up there, on the top of my list.
Every month is a design I just can't wait to put to fabric.
Here's a couple of photos of the envelope it came in.
You can see just how fun these designs are.

I had to do a little searching for online for it, and
 here's what I have found...

Lang.com
Has the smaller 2017 wall calendar which is 7 3/4" w x 15"h
(its on sale for a great price)
The brand new 2018 calendars are available too.

I wanted the bigger size 13 3/4"w x 24"h
Amazon.com
This one is perfect for those 12" mini quilt hangers.
Oh and if you can't live without that great calendar frame
like me...
It's considerably cheaper on Amazon!
;-)

soooooo...
Want to know a little bit about how I made
the grass on the bottom, stand up?
I won a bottle of Terial Magic recently.
Honestly, I hadn't heard of it, and didn't have any idea
what it was.
Well, I'm here to tell you, it's awesome.
The best way I can describe it... it's like a starch of steroids!
LOL!!
It's used to make dimensional things from fabric,
 like flowers and wings, etc...
I just can't say enough good about it.
I've been told it's perfect for fabrics we run thru our cutting machines, like the "Brother Scan and Cut" or the "Silhouette Cameo".
I've not played with it myself, but I'm reading rave reviews!

I do hope I've inspired you this month, to play.
A big thanks to "Island Batik"
"Terial Magic"
and
"Favorite Things" by Wendy Bentley
The beginning of great things to come!

Island Batik Mini Madness Wrap Up

March wrap up with Island Batik

There's just something about seeing all these together...

What an incredible bunch of "creative" ambassadors we have.
It was a month of mini paper piecing projects...
They are all sure "stunning" aren't they?

We have so much talent this year.
Your going to want to check out each of their blogs.
You'll find some fun tutorials along the way.

Karen from "TheQuiltRambler",
wanted to make sure you check in with her later this week.
She's working of a video tutorial.
I for one, can't wait...

Just Perfect for a Spring Day

Spring has sprung...the daffodils are in full bloom.
I've got dandelions in my yard already.
Really???  Why are they, the one thing that this girl
can grow better than no other????

Yes, while I should be outside dealing with those blasted dandelions...
I choose to hide out in the quilt cave and do a little pattern testing
for my friend Carol over at "FunThreads".

Meet "Flutter"
Is she not, just the cutest?
So bright and cheery, and so easy to put together.
Even a novice and accomplish this, in little time.
The center and circles are fusible applique, so it's quick and easy.

If you would like more info on this brand new pattern
check it out

Well now...I guess I have to quit putting off the inevitable
and deal with the yard work.
Hummm... I did see a recipe online recently for dandelion jelly.
Maybe I should go back down and just sew some more!
LOL!!!!

The Biggie is Done

I posted awhile back about dumping the junk and scrapping the crap!
Well, I can happily report that it's done!
Here's my "Urban Development" quilt.

The greatest stash buster ever.
Best yet, all those crazy scraps, just play so well together.
It's like one big ole "eye spy" quilt!
:-)
1 1/2" -2" squares use up, even the tiniest amount of scraps.
My hand dye fabrics surround each block.

You can find this pattern at
(it's linked for you)
along with tons of other great stash busters.
I've just downloaded another pattern to start on.
There just "seams" to be no end to my scraps!
LOL!!

Doesn't that just make your heart happy?
It's a 106"x 106" bundle of joy!

There's also, no end in sight for me...
This was mail call yesterday.
I've got work to do!
:-)
