And the Answer is...

              LOL!!  You're all wrong!

Looky, looky...we got Hooky.
(I think I heard that in a movie once!)
Yep, ole Captain Hook!

I just loved the movie "Hook"

I know you can see it now!
:-)

I had more fun this weekend playing this little guessing game.
Oh the answers I got...

Kangaroo

Dr Who

An eyeball

Penguin

Dogs Head

Donkey

The Count of Sesame Street

A Butterfly

Flamingo

A Sheep

Pink Panther in Beige  (LOL)

An Ant Eater

Lucy

An Ewe

Polar Bear

A Moose Eye and Face ( my all time fav! )

The Farm Quilter and Deb W, my work buddy, were the 2 who  came the closest.
They both new it was a face with an eyeball.
You girls are soooooooo smart!
:-)

I must admit that the Pink Panther in Beige is what it looks most like to me!
LOL!!

I also put together "Smee".
I must say that phrase,
"Bring me Smee" ran thru my head all weekend.
I'm pretty sure it's something I just made up!
;-)

Both of these are patterns I tested for Katie Olson, a designer for Fandom in Stitches.
These guys and many more of the "Hook" gang, are coming out later this year.
I think part of the fun of testing, is having them first!
;-)

If you haven't checked out Fandom in Stitches, you can do so

All the patterns are paper piecing and best yet...FREE

A big thanks to Fandom and all the designers, who have allowed me to play for them!
I've got another 2 on my table right now, that I can't wait to share.

Ahhhhhhh, life is good!

Happy Stitchin
and thanks to all of you, for making my weekend!

Tell me, what's your best guess?????

Happy Sunday!

Easter Party Quilt-A-Long Block 6

Block 6 already?
That officially puts us past the 1/2 way point when we are done with this block!

I scream, you scream, we all scream for Ice Cream!

And these little goodies sit on a background of "Whip Cream"
from the Island Batik Neutrals Collection.

I don't know about you, but whip cream and ice cream...
it's heavenly to me!

Our "Island Batik" color pallet this week is from left to right...

BE25-F1 from the Blenders Collection
111517075 from the Flower Fields Collection
111505165 from the Flower Fields Collection
111505170 from the Flower Fields Collection
111501168 from the Flower Fields Collection
111517141 from the Country Fair Collection
111505100 from the Flower Fields Collection

Blueberry...

Pistachio...

Lemon...maybe!

For the "sprinkles" on my ice cream I chose to use thread painting again.

The easiest way to make your cones come to life,
is to draw in a few lines with a pencil and a ruler.
Now if only...
someone had placed the ruler right side up!
But you can see just how easy it is.
Those pencil lines are all covered up, when stitched.
:-)

And our official, past the half way point leaves us with this!
It's also a great point to stop for a give-a-way again!
:-)

Wouldn't you like one of these little bundles?
Leave me a comment, make sure your NOT a no-reply blogger,
and I will pick a winner next Saturday July 4th. What a better way to celebrate the day!
;-)

So grab  you threads and jump on in!

If you need more information on this Quilt-A-Long,
you can find it right

Til next time...

Starlight Starbright

Another of BeaQuilters fabulous designs, that I was lucky enough to test out!

Starlight Starbright.

Remember me teasing you with the photo below,  awhile back?

I know, you though it was part of my Easter Party project!
Oh you were so wrong!
;-)

I broke out my hand dyes for this fun project.
It's for you paper piecing lovers!
If it looks scary to you...don't worry, it's really very easy.

Check out more details on Bea's pattern right

And have yourself some fun!

Swimming Dolphins

These might not look like Dolphins to you...

and you would be absolutely correct!
They are not.
:-)

But the pattern that "BeaQuilter" designed is called
Swimming Dolphins

When Bea asked me to pattern test for her, I knew that wonderful piece of flannel, I had be saving for the perfect project, had finally found it's place.

Dolphins, Orca Whales...they are almost alike!
LOL!!

You can find this fast and fun pattern, right

Check out what the other testers did. It's so much fun to see it done in
different fabrics. You would almost never know it's the same pattern!

Thanks Bea for letting me play!

:-)

How do you feel about Paper Piecing?

For me, it was a love/hate relationship. I took a class years ago, and hated it.  Fast forward a few more years and I took another class that made me fall in love with it.

You've seen the Peanuts gang, hanging out here lately. Yep, they were my first paper piecing guys, in a long time...but all that changed this past weekend.

Katie Olson did some designing and was looking for a pattern tester. You know I can't pass up an opportunity to play with something new!   LOL!

I absolutely love Dr. Seuss.

So when I saw the "Cat in the Hat"
I couldn't volunteer fast enough.
He's so stinkin' cute isn't he?

Then I was asked if I would test Cindy Lou Who?
Who wouldn't right!

She has such a sweet face.
I "Googled" a photo of Cindy Lou and added
a bit of embroidery to her, to bring her to life.
To my delight, Katie also loved it
and adjusted her pattern, to reflect it.

Best yet...

These, plus more of the Dr Seuss gang will be available in a few weeks,
over at Fandom In Stitches

Check it out right

Oh, and  you will want to make sure you look thru,
 all the fabulous patterns offered.
So many great ones, so much fun!

Be sure to thank the talented designers, who share their designs
for free, with us all.
They are the best!

:-)

Cleaning up!

Some days it just takes more to clean up the stitching cave than just putting my stuff away.  I don't know about you, but once my room gets too junked up... I just have to stop and regroup to keep myself sane.

This time I had to dump the junk!
All those bits and pieces in all those totes, drawers and bags...
(this is only a small part, I can't bear to show you it all)
LOL!!

Recently I stumbled on a fun tutorial

Hummm... Me thinks that would be a great way to use up some of the really small stuff!

So away I went stitching away!

Blocks and blocks and blocks,
I watched those piles of scrap dwindle.
:-)

Leaving me with this!

Oh what a fun way to use up the stuff.

As I was stitching my last row together...

Horrors!

Did I really stitch all those blocks wrong???

Why yes I did!

We all know that log cabin blocks have the colors split evenly...
Like this one here.

Can you spot what I did?

Well, needless to say, I am NOT taking out all that stitching.
My new blocks are now considered a "Design Element".
Created by an idiot!
LOL!!

Yep, some days you just gotta learn to roll with things!

After all, for lounging around on the grass, who cares!
Right!
;-)

Thanks Red Pepper Quilts for this great tutorial.
(Even if I can't read)
LOL!

You can find it right HERE for yourselves.

Happy Stitchin!

Easter Party Quilt-A-Long Block 5

This block is so simple...
Just 3 colors

But they pack a punch!
Left to right they are Island Batik

111505101from the Flower Fields Collection
111515100 from the Flower Fields Collection
Almond from Neutrals Collection

Tea anyone?

Again a great place to break out those decorative stitches on your machine...
Do a little practice on your free motion stitching,
add a little thread painting.
Unless of course, hand embroidery is more your thing!
:-)

This block sits on a "Custard" background from the Neutrals Collection.
Oh... a nice cup of tea with some custard sounds wonderful.
The power of suggestion.
LOL!!

So striking isn't it?

Grab your thread and hop on in!

If  your needing more information...
You can find it right

Til next time...

BeaQuilters Peanuts BOM #6

Are you keeping up with us?

If it's not Sally Brown...
Charlies little sister who made her first appearance on August 23, 1959.
She had a crush on Linus and often complained about or overreacted to situations.
Hummm...
Some might say, she could be me!
LOL!!
But I don't recall the crush on Linus!
;-)

A big thanks to BeaQuilter
You can read more from here right HERE

Of course it's all possible thru the generosity of Alida and her wonderful
paper piecing patterns. See more of there right HERE

Travel time? How about Jet Setting!

It's that time of the year, when vacations start, folks are getting out and seeing the world. Visiting friends and family.

Jet Setting around...
Not me, but I can sure dream!

This pattern from ByAnnie.com
is the perfect way to travel.

Have you ever tried to find your bag at the airport, you know in that sea of black roller bags?
This fun handle wrap, will make your bag easier to spot.

The folding ID tag, keeps your information private.

This fun round bag, with the pockets on the back, unzips

and opens up to hold loads of necessities when you travel.

And it slides right over the handle on your suitcase.
It's nice to have a free hand when you travel.

I used...

These bright fun fabrics are from the "Flower Fields" Collection
The floral print is 111501076
and the co-ordinating blue is  111505165.

The lining is a piece of my snow dye fabric.

You can find this pattern right

Never again, will I be "square" when I travel.

The rain is gone, and it's time to return to yard work, but
did I enjoy getting into my sewing room for awhile.

:-)
