Happy Halloween

It's here, it's here...
My favorite time of the year!
What better way to celebrate the day, but with the quilt club girls.
Where we can act like kids again.
Green monster cheesecakes and strawberry ghosts...
Pumpkin face Quesidillas and of course my favorite "barf" guacamole!
Apparently I spend way too much time on Pinterest!
A little bit of lovin'
 Lots of laughs
And surprises
(No surprise, that I was trying to hide from photos again)
Thanks to the inspiration from Nancy, over at Patchwork Breeze
in last weeks "Peek a Who" blog hop...
We decoupaged pumpkins, just like hers!
You can read more on that
What every quilter asks this time of  the year.
That answer is easy...why of course my dear!
Everyone went home with loads of loot!
You know how you feel when it's time to go...
Don't let it be over, just say it ain't so!
Wishing you all a "kitty" tastic Halloween!
Here's lookin at you kid!
;-)
til next time...

Peek A Who Blog Hop

Peek a Boo
Peek a Who
Peek a What!

"Yes" it's that time again. My favorite time of the year.
When all the ghouls and goblins come out to play.
Marian just loves getting all of us together to "trick or treat" with you.
Thank you Marian for being the leader of our pack.
We really need to come up with a "fun" haunting name for you, now don't we?

Here's what's peeking at you from my yard...
My "Halloween Soup"!
(yes, I had to use the photo with the toilet planter in it)
HAHAHAHAHA
I couldn't get the name out of my head, the entire time I was stitching it.
Maybe because it's like leftovers, you just keep dumping what you have into it.
What a great way to get out all those wonderful Halloween novelty prints that we keep collecting, and do some fun fussy cutting.
I was even able to sneak in my favorite
"Peek a Who"
From Alexander Henry's "Ghastlie" Gang!
This quilt is from Lori Holt's "Farm Girl Vintage" book.
I'm not too sure this was the vision Lori had when she wrote this book,
but a quick google search for Halloween Farm Girl Vintage,
brought up a quilt I just couldn't resist.
I have no idea who to give credit too, for this fabulous layout, but I love it!
There is an add on block for the "Barn Cat" you can purchase from the
"Fat Quarter Shop"

We have wonderful give away's from some fabulous sponsors.

Of course you want to make sure you visit our "Hostess with the Mostess"
  HERE
Again this year, Marian has free pattern daily on her page, that's a must have.
We love you Marian!!!

I do hope you have enjoyed your romp thru my "Halloween Soup" today.
Please visit my fellow bloggers and see just what they have peeking at you!

Needle Paper Scissors with Island Batik

This month's challenge for us "Island Batik" ambassadors is paper piecing.
I love a good paper piecing project from time to time.
So, I ask you...
What happens when you combine a paper piecing challenge,
with my favorite time of the year?
Answer:  It looks like this.
Now, you've just gotta love that eyeball staring at you.
LOL!!
I do love Halloween as much as I love "Island Batik" fabrics.
The nice thing about them, is there are no tricks, just treats all around.
Best yet they provide tons and tons of fabulous "eye" candy which is calorie free.
Not something I can say about the "other" candy!
hahahahaha
This fun little trick or treat mini is from "Art Quilt Designs".
Janeen did this for a 2015 Halloween blog hop.
It's perfect for a confident beginner.
This finished up to 20 1/2" x 20 1/2"
Perfect for a wall hanging or a table topper.
You can find the pattern at "Craftsy"
Check out her blog HERE, she's always up to something fun.
Thank you "Island Batik" for providing me with these beautiful fabrics.
It's a big treat for me!

October Snow Hearts

I'm just a few days late, but my October Snow Heart is done...
...and he's already to let the trick or treating begin!
I just love this time of the year.
;-)
If you've been following along, you know that I've joined up with my Aussie blogging buddies
in getting these patterns off our computers and onto some fabric.
It's "sew" much fun to see how different they are, with our own personnel touches.

Karen from Sunburnt Quilts
Shez from I Am
Jeannette from Celtic Craft Girl

While these patterns are a few years old, "Bunny Hill" has re-posted some of them,
so get them while you can

Wondering why I've been so quiet the past couple of weeks?
It was vacation time.
Happy dance.
Yet another reason I love this time of the year.
LOL!!
We took a little boat ride, up the east coast to see the colors.
While it rained the majority of the time, it was a wonderful way to spend the week.
We spent a day in Newport Rhode Island, where we took a sailboat trip,
thru the backyards of the rich and famous.

These 2 photos are of the ground that Jackie Kennedy grew up on.
Humble little place huh?
LOL!!
What's even crazier is that "lighthouse" looking building in the first photo,
 was her play house.
The big square thing in front of it was an elevator they added, so her aging dog
could get up in it with her.
Yep, it's way nicer than the playhouse my kids had.
:-)
Next stop was Boston, where we walked the "Freedom Trail".
Visited the cemetery where Paul Revere, Samuel Adams and John Hancock are buried.

Incredible history lesson. I've never visited there before, but I will definitely return.
On to my favorite "Acadia National Park"

The colors were changing and the views were beautiful, even in the pouring rain...
But...
Our lunch was out of this world!

Next stop...Saint John New Brunswick, on the Bay of Fundy.
Home of the highest tides
We took a bus trip out to St. Martins to see the caves.
The tide was down 27 feet.
These boats would be at the top of the pilings in a few hours when that tide comes back in.
Fascinating place with some incredible bridges.
Last but not least...Halifax Nova Scotia.
My absolute favorite by far.
On a recommendation from Benita over at Victoriana Quilter,
we took a bus trip to "Lunenburg". That was the highlight of the trip.
What an incredible little town on the bay.
This is one of only 2 towns in North America, that's a UNESCO World Heritage site.
70% of the building are original from the 16th and 17th century.
Nothing in this town can be changed.
I'm in LOVE with this place.
Move over Alaska... I've found a new place I want to move to.
And the man of my dreams.
LOL!!
Some reason, hubby was not at all threatened.
tee hee hee
Yep, I see a new place I want to live, and it's affordable too.
I can live with the wild color houses.
Heck, I want a lime green and purple house!
